About Device Fieldnotes
An editorial ranking of eleven device fingerprinting products for engineering, fraud and product teams choosing identification and account-risk evidence.
Our mission
Device identity buyers face incomparable accuracy claims, unclear matching scopes and pricing that counts calls, users or events differently. Device Fieldnotes connects the product’s identity unit, evidence and deployment requirements with a consistent buying framework.
- One framework. Eleven products are compared using 41 criteria across seven categories.
- Traceable sources. Capabilities, access and prices link to official product pages, documentation and repository terms.
- B2B operating fit. Recognition quality, legitimate users, integration, risk context and total cost matter together.
Nathan Brooks
Nathan covers device recognition, browser evidence, persistent identifiers and the relationship between identity and fraud decisions. His editorial principle is simple: a buyer should be able to follow an assessment to the matching scope, primary source and relevant test case, then decide whether the product fits the protected action.
Editorial standards
Methodology explains inclusion and evidence rules. Scoring publishes all criteria and relative weights. Editorial policy describes placement and corrections. Terms of Use explains the scope of this publication.
Zero paid placements. Scores, ranking positions and Editor’s Choice are not sold. Commercial inquiries and source corrections are assessed separately.
Editor’s Choice and ratings
The score uses a 0–10 editorial scale under the same framework. ShieldLabs, 9.5 out of 10, receives Editor’s Choice for bringing reusable device identity, current device/network intelligence and ready-made account-level risk findings together with self-serve access. The award adds no points.
